Bababot — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 6 October 2026 · Last updated: October 17, 2026

This policy explains how the Bababot app ("Bababot - Abacus Math For Kids", the "App") handles information. The App is published by GEKIGA GENIOUS KID GAME STUDIO COMPANY LIMITED, which trades as GeKiGa Studio ("we", "us", "our"). GeKiGa Studio is a trade name of the same company, not a separate entity. On the Apple App Store the App's Apple ID is 6446885356 and its bundle identifier is com.gekiga.abacus.soroban. You can reach us at [email protected].

Bababot is currently available only on iPhone and iPad; an Android version is not currently distributed.

1. Summary

Starting with version 1.1.1 (build 10), Bababot does not collect any information. It contains no third-party analytics or advertising software, it has no accounts, and it does not send information about your child, your family, or your device to us or to any third party. What the App saves stays on your device and, if iCloud is turned on, in your family's own iCloud account. We cannot access it.

Earlier versions, up to and including version 1.1.0, included Google Firebase Analytics. Section 3 describes what those versions sent and how to ask for that data to be deleted.

2. Information stored on your device and in your iCloud

Bababot has no server and does not sync to one. To remember your child's progress, the App saves a record on the device (the dataUser save). If the device has iCloud turned on, iOS also keeps a copy in the family's own iCloud account through Apple's iCloud key-value storage (keys dataUser and dataUser.v2.replica.<id>), so progress can carry over to the family's other devices. Apple stores that copy under your Apple ID. We cannot read it.

The save contains:

The App also stores a few values only on the device: whether the parent gate was passed, a promo code you entered and whether it is active, a heart count, whether a reminder has been set, and a random replica identifier used to merge saves between your own devices. These values are not sent anywhere.

Parental gate

Buying or restoring a subscription, entering a promo code, and opening this policy sit behind a parental gate: a multiplication question (two numbers from 6 to 12) that is checked on the device. Answering correctly stores a flag on the device, and closing the subscription screen resets it. The answer is not sent anywhere. The gate keeps young children out of those areas; it is not a way of collecting parental consent, because the App does not collect information that needs it.

Reminders and notifications

A parent can choose a time for a daily local reminder ("Have you completed today's lesson yet?"). The reminder is scheduled on the device. The App asks iOS to register for remote notifications, but it does not store the resulting device token or send it to anyone, and we do not send push notifications.

Scores and sharing

Scores stay in the App. There is no Game Center leaderboard and no score server. If you choose to share Bababot, the App opens Apple's share sheet with a pre-written invitation (and, where applicable, a gift code). You decide whether to send it and to whom; we receive nothing.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are sold through Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit). Apple handles the payment; we never receive your name, card number, or other payment details. The App asks StoreKit on the device whether a purchase is active and keeps that answer in memory to unlock content. Apple keeps the purchase record in your App Store account, where you can also manage or cancel subscriptions.

No advertising, no tracking, no accounts

Bababot shows no advertising and contains no advertising software. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not use App Tracking Transparency, and does not track your child across apps or websites. There are no user accounts or sign-ups. The App does not request access to the camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or location.

3. Earlier versions (1.1.0 and older)

Versions up to and including 1.1.0 included Google Firebase Analytics and started it when the App launched. Those versions sent the following to Google:

Those versions did not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, the IDFA, or a Firebase user ID, and they turned ad-personalization signals off. Google processed the data to provide Firebase Analytics to us; see Privacy and Security in Firebase. The data is held in our Firebase project bababot-14ddc. To ask for data from an earlier version to be deleted, email [email protected]. Updating to version 1.1.1 or later stops all collection.

4. How we use information

From version 1.1.1 we do not receive information from the App, so we do not use it for anything. On your device, the App uses the data in section 2 only to run lessons, remember progress, apply settings, schedule your reminder, and unlock purchases. We used the analytics from earlier versions only to understand how lessons and screens were used, to find startup errors, and to see how the subscription screen performed.

5. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share information about you or your child. The only outside services involved are Apple's: the App Store, In-App Purchase, and iCloud key-value storage, which Apple operates under its own privacy policy. For earlier versions, see section 3.

6. Retention and deletion

7. Children's privacy

Bababot is made for children, and we take the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and UK and EU rules on children's data seriously. From version 1.1.1 the App does not collect personal information from children: nothing about your child leaves the device except the copy that iOS keeps in your own iCloud, which we cannot access. The App has no chat, no social features, no advertising, and no third-party analytics, and purchases, promo codes, and the link to this policy sit behind the parental gate.

A parent or guardian can contact [email protected] with any question about a child's information, or to ask us to delete analytics data collected by an earlier version. We respond within 30 days.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, California, or Brazil), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, to object to processing, or to withdraw consent. Because the current App sends us nothing, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device or in iCloud. For anything else, including data from earlier versions, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

9. Security and international transfers

The App does not send your data over the network to us. Data in iCloud and App Store purchases are protected and processed by Apple, which may process them in countries other than yours, as described in Apple's privacy policy. Analytics data from earlier versions was processed by Google under Google's privacy policy.

10. Where this policy is published

This policy is published at gekigastudio.net/bababot/privacy. From version 1.1.1, the terms and privacy link inside the App (behind the parental gate) opens this page.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above changes when the text changes. If a future version of the App changes what information is collected, we will update this policy before that version is released.
